Dr.-Sara-Kroll-receives-two-Early-Career-Grants-from-the-Swiss-National-Science-Foundation-(SPF---Ambizione)

Dr. Sara Kroll receives two Early Career Grants from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SPF & Ambizione)

We congratulate Dr. Sara Liane Kroll for being awarded the Swiss Postdoc Fellowship (SPF; Horizon Europe Transitional Measure for the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship) and the prestigious Ambizione Grant enabling her to establish herself as an independent scientist.

Dr. Sara Kroll is currently a postdoc in the Experimental and Clinical Pharmacopsychology research group headed by Prof. Dr. Boris Quednow. She is particularly interested in the psychological and neurobiological mechanisms underpinning substance use disorders, specifically focusing on stress and social functioning. Together with Prof. Boris Quednow, Dr. Sara Kroll is currently investigating the link between the endocannabinoid system and substance use disorders, which will be significantly supported by her SPF Grant for the project “The endocannabinoid system and drug addiction: acute and chronic endocannabinoid levels in alcohol user disorder”. Dr. Sara Kroll’s Ambizione project “The mu-opioid receptor system and social attachment: affiliative behaviour and stress” aims to disentangle the mechanism of the mu-opioid receptor system on stress and affiliative behavior in humans with the long-term goal to get a better understanding of vulnerability to opioid use disorder.
