Our research group is investigating the needs and characteristics of those patients who do not benefit from standard treatments. We are studying and adapting cutting edge therapies to the needs and capabilities of these patients. We are implementing new technologies to improve both assessment and treatment. Our main goal is to increase the well-being and recovery process in this patient population. In addition, we will be sharing our results in a manner which is both clinically meaningful and replicable.
Accordingly, we have identified three key research areas.
- Assessment: identifying the psychometric, neurocognitive, functional and psychosocial characteristics of those patients who fail to respond to standard treatments, have a chronic course of illness or experience frequent relapses.
- Implementation/intervention: Adaptation and implementation of cutting-edge psychotherapeutic interventions for those excluded for methodological reasons, primarily severity and failure to respond to treatment from the majority of research.
- Digital technology: Use of digital technology to assess symptoms and impairment to enhance or improve diagnosis and to monitor treatment. In addition, delivery of treatment using digital technologies.
