Paul Hoff, born 1956, MD, PhD, is head psychiatrist and deputy medical director of the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland. He received his medical degree at the University of Mainz, Germany, in 1980, and his philosophical degree at the University of Munich, Germany, in 1988. From 1981 to 1996 he worked at the Departments of Psychiatry and Neurology at the University of Munich, where, in 1994, he was appointed university lecturer. He received his official accreditation as psychiatrist and neurologist in 1989 and as psychotherapist in 1996. 1997 he was appointed university professor of psychiatry at the Technical University of Aachen, Germany (RWTH). Since 2003 he is working in Zurich.
