Social Psychiatry and Clinical Neurophysiology

Head: Prof. Dr. med. Wolfram Kawohl

Our goal is to gain insight into the causes of mental disorders and to develop and evaluate interventions incorporating the needs and social circumstances of people with mental illnesses. We are committed to a translational research model over a broad spectrum in social psychiatry. Therefore we equally use neurobiological, neuropsychological and social science methods. We are dedicated to empirical and quantitative approaches and focus on research questions strongly related to clinical and public mental health issues. We feel obliged to the training of young scientists. Therefore we welcome students on all levels of qualification to participate in our activities.
