Individual Differences in Psychosis - IDP (Prof. Dr. P. Homan)

The main focus of our research is motivated by a widely shared observation in psychiatry: that no two patients are alike. This is true for patients with the same diagnosis, it is true for patients under the same treatment, and it is especially relevant for patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Although such individual differences are readily apparent when observing patients, quantifying them and mapping them onto measurable differences in the brain has been challenging. Using neuroimaging and behavioral assays, our aim is to contribute to the development of objective biomarkers for the diagnosis (diagnostic biomarkers) and prognosis (prognostic biomarkers) of psychosis patients.
